How to Get Involved

The Youth Commission is a collaborative movement as much as it is a County Commission . It takes the support of young people, agency leaders, CBOs, community members, and publications to drive meaningful and lasting change. Here are a few ways to get involved for all communities.

Everyone

Stay Informed

Sign up for the Youth Commission newsletter to keep up with meetings, activities, announcements, and opportunities to connect with the Commission. You can sign up on this site.

Youth

Share Your Voice

Youth Commissioners are young people who have experienced the foster care and juvenile justice systems, but they need the ideas and voices of peers to help push for change in LA County. If you’re a young person with lived experience in these systems and you have ideas to share with the Commission, call us at (213) 633-5599.

AGENCY LEADERS AND CBOS

Collaborate with Us

If you are a part of an organization that serves youth in LA County, we want to work with you to help improve youth facing systems. Whether you’re a senior leader or a practitioner in the field, we’d love to connect with you. To learn more about how you can get involved, email us and share a bit about your organization so we can find some time to meet with you!

COMMUNITY MEMBERS

Help Us Advocate for Change

We welcome the support of community members who want to lend their support to youth. If you have ideas for how you can support the youth commission, help organize and mobilize your community, or advocate for policy initiatives with your elected officials, we’d love to connect.

MEDIA ORGANIZATIONS & PUBLICATIONS

Inform Your Audiences/Communities

The work of the Commission will be more successful with engaged communities sharing their ideas, concerns, and voices. Please connect with us if you’re interested in talking with a Commissioner to learn more about their advocacy and transformative work. Your platform can help keep community members informed.
